Workshop recap

March 2025 –We had fun Around the Table learning to make fire cider at our hand-on workshop last month. Herbalist Danya Mosgovian taught us the health benefits of the traditional remedy made with apple cider vinegar, honey, onions, jalapeno peppers, ginger, garlic, and more – all organic ingredients from our produce shelves. We talked, tasted, laughed, and wiped away tears from chopping onions and jalapenos. Danya taught us the history of the age-old remedy made popular by herbalist and author Rosemary Gladstar, who coined it ‘fire cider’ in the 1970’s. Teaching from Gladstar’s book of recipes and anecdotes, Danya shared the herbalist’s passion to pass along the fire cider tradition to each generation. We each brought home a fresh batch, which will steep for a few weeks until we can enjoy the health benefits.

See more about Rosemary Gladstar’s work here, and stay tuned for more makers workshops !
