Talent in the kitchen: go behind-the-scenes with our chefs

Behind Driver’s prepared foods department is a team of chefs delivering fresh, organic meals to our customers every day. We can thank our dedicated kitchen staff for the fantastic selection of holiday foods this season, and for the delicious offerings that fill our deli throughout the year. Lead by head chef Carlos Rodriguez, and supported by longtime team members Ada, Domingo, Gerson, Ricardo and Vidal, the crew keeps a busy schedule that has them moving from our off-site commercial kitchen to our market kitchen throughout the week. Carlos and his team cut no corners when it comes to sourcing organic and sustainable ingredients, and virtually all of our food is proudly made in-house. This means we prepare everything by hand, including meats, grains, produce, and all of our dressings and sauces. The team’s expertise spans various cuisines, ensuring a menu that is not only diverse, but also authentic and tasty. You’ll find a range of fresh dishes available throughout the week, from baked potatoes and meatloaf in the deli case, to salads, wild-caught salmon dishes, and burritos in the cold case.

 

Questions? Ask our deli staff! They work closely with the prepared food department, and they can help you find the perfect meal. They can also heat some dishes for you to enjoy in our dining area. And voila, dinner is taken care of!



HOLIDAY DISHES

 

Our organic holiday menu is available in November and December. Dishes include: Driver’s Turkey dinner; Brussel sprouts; Green beans; Mashed potatoes; Vegan mashed sweet potatoes; House Made Stuffing; Gravy; Mushroom Gravy; Cranberry Sauce. Seasonal fall dishes also include: Vegan pumpkin soup; Fall vegetable medley, and Wheat berry salad with butternut squash.


FROM THE COLD CASE

 

Popular dishes from our year-round menu rotate throughout the week, and depend on availability of fresh ingredients. Find a range of favorite meals including: Teriyaki salmon rice bowl; Sicilian pesto pasta; Tomatillo chicken; Pico de gallo; Free range chicken burrito; Vegetable fried rice; and Coconut tapioca pudding.

In the deli case, you’ll find fresh Crab cakes; Kale cakes; Twice-baked potatoes; Potato latkes; Grilled chicken breast; a range of Paninis (grilled to order) and much more.
