The supplement department at Driver’s Market is stocked with a selection of carefully chosen vitamins and minerals, and is organized in categories including immunity, hydration, digestion and more. Driver’s supplement buyer, Danya Mosgofian, evaluates products and companies before bringing them in, and does the homework for our customers. “I prefer food-based products because they absorb better. Non-GMO, preferably organic, and no giant corporate manufacturers,” said Danya.

The People Behind Our Products
There are farmers and makers behind every product at Driver’s Market, and many of them are small, local operations. Last month, we co-hosted a small business panel Around the Table at Driver’s with our friends at Barnraiser, a Sausalito-based crowdfunding platform for the food world. We welcomed friends from Mimi’s Confitures, Wrecking Ball Coffee, Marin Kombucha, Point Reyes Farmstead Creamery, and Beck’s Bakery for a discussion about what it takes for a small food business to succeed in the Bay Area.

Driver’s First Annual Harvest Festival
Our First Annual Harvest Festival in October was a celebration of Bay Area makers and farmers — and of our community. The day featured local vendors serving food, a pie baking contest, pumpkin decorating, and a riveting game of Bucha Pong (think beer pong but with kombucha!)
Shrub: Summer Preserved
If you’ve tried a shrub cocktail or spritzer in the last few years, you may have fallen for this relatively new addition to the beverage scene. But what exactly is shrub? And where did it come from?
The Terroir of Cheese
Anyone’s first encounter with the word terroir almost certainly is in relation to wine. The very word itself carries a certain reverence and respect for the craft that it describes, while simultaneously evoking the image of an all-too-serious sommelier telling you about things like elevation and whether the Rhone had a mild summer that year. But terroir need not be the sole provenance of that expensive bottle of pinot noir; it can also apply to that bottle of grass-grazed milk, or the wheel of raw sheep’s milk cheese at your local market.
What is Natural Wine?
Driver’s Market is committed to bringing you the best products with a reverence for where they come from and who makes them. That philosophy rings true in our wine department which specializes in Natural wine. Our wine buyer, Niesa Granger, explains what Natural wine is, and how it can differ from wine with an “Organic” label.
Fermentation Class with Karen Diggs of Kraut Source
Karen Diggs, founder of Kraut Source and culinary instructor, held a sold-out Fermentation Class at Driver’s Market in March 2016. Participants received hands-on culinary instruction, a Kraut Source fermentation device (available at Driver’s Market), and a fresh jar of kraut to bring home. It was a perfect class: fun, funny and delicious.
Seeds for Sausalito Gardens
It’s spring, and that means it’s time to start gardening. It’s still not too late to get some seeds started for the season, and Driver’s boasts a curated collection of exotic offerings from Redwood Seeds in Manton, CA. On their small family farm, Kalan Redwood and her husband Cam grow and save a variety of rare heirloom seeds from around the world. Our produce manager, Lauren Miller, worked with Kalan to put together a selection of seeds that would thrive in Sausalito.
