Sea of plastic
We are in the midst of a recycling crisis in California and the US. For a long time, we have relied heavily on exporting our recyclable material to Asia. Recently, countries including China have imposed strict recycling limits and have drastically cut the import of US materials. As a result we are struggling to figure out what to do with stockpiled plastics and other materials across the country. The dirty truth is that much of what we put in blue bins will end up in landfills. What can we do about it?

In May 2019, Sharima Rasanayagam, PhD, Director of Science at Breast Cancer Prevention Partners, joined us Around the Table to discuss environmental toxins that are linked to cancer. Cannabis is commonly used to mitigate conditions including arthritis, chronic pain, epilepsy, multiple sclerosis, PTSD, anxiety and weight loss. Read Lauren’s advice for developing — and enjoying — your own cannabis therapy.

Now available: The botanical goodness of CBD products
Cannabidiol (CBD) is an oil extracted from the hemp plant, and is known to have powerful botanical benefits. Like THC, CBD is known to have soothing, anti-inflammatory properties. Unlike THC, CBD is non-psychoactive, so you won’t get that “stoned” feeling — helpful when you need to think straight, and it’s perfect for a non-smoker. Best of all, CBD products are now available at Driver’s Market in the form of supplements and drinks.
